FF Tactics: War of Lions does the Tactics series justice without a doubt and even though its predecessor is over 10 years old, War of Lions proves that gameplay is key in today’s gaming. FF Tactics: War of Lions manages to pack over 60 hours of entertaining and challanging gameplay into a handheld format, though the graphics don’t seem to have improved much since the first installment. Any fan of FF Tactics will know that the visuals aren’t what make these games great anyway.
The game offers all the classes and character customizations that you loved in the first game and they even added a few classes and customizations. The first game did a great job explaining classes and character builds, but in this game Square leaves you to figure these things out for yourself, so if you’re new to the series it may require some time to get used to.
Again the gameplay here is excellent and you won’t tire of it easily. I played through the game not 2 but 3 times now, and it still hasn’t gotten old. Each battle is different and will require you to adapt to the different enviroments and enemies. Magic attacks are as beautiful as ever despite only being 2D. And something that wasn’t available in the first game are the beautiful full action cut scenes that sink you even deeper into the intriquing story.
The multiplayer mode was my favorite addition in this game, allowing one-on-one battles and coopertive play adding even more play time. Both modes make balancing your parties entertaining and add a whole entire layer of stradegy.
FF Tactics: War of Lions is easily one of the best installments in the Final Fantasy series that we’ve seen in years and is an essential for any Final Fantasy or RPG fan. This is a must download game!

Disgaea was originally a game that came out for the Playstation 2 in 2003. It became a favorite in the RPG genre because of it’s extremely funny story, cute graphics, and amazing game play. Now, four years later, we are given a sequel that belongs in anybody PSP users collection that enjoys RPG games. There is a nice story mode, beautiful graphics and presentation, and even an enjoyable multiplayer mode, which gives this game a ton of replayability.
The gameplay is divided up into a series of chapters that each has their own goal. Between each fight you will return to your citadel to heal, get new items, and purchase gear. Also you can go back to any of your previous battles to play them over again. One of my favorite features about this game is there is no (I believe) level cap. Most rpg’s will cut you off at 100 levels but Disgaea will allow you to reach thousands of them.
Combat is where you will spend most of your time. Combat in Disgaea is turn based and you will always have the first turn. You move your units and position them, then it’s your enemies turn. It is even possible to perform combo attacks if you have allies adjacent to another when they execute attacks.
Character creation is also a lot of fun. Besides the story characters that join your party you can create new characters by spending the mana that you get from winning fights against your enemies. There is a vast number of choices you can make in their classes. You can possibly even create an “ultimate warrior” by transmigrating old characters into new ones.
Regular gameplay should take roughly 30 to 40 hours and from there you have a ton more things you can do. There are different endings, optional bosses, and extra areas. There is even an item world which is exactly what it’s name is, a world inside of your items.
The multiplayer mode is also very fun where you can trade items with friends and war each others armies.
This game is a ton of fun and I highly recommend playing it.

Daxter, an installment in the Jak and Daxter series, brings many new features and innovations to both the series and the PSP. Not only is this game a huge step in the right direction for the franchise since the disappointing racing game for the PS2. Daxter still offers the same great comedy you’d expect from the series and builds on the graphics as well. Even though Jak isn’t present in this game, I’ll be honest, he won’t be very missed. Daxter is more than enough for this game especially on the PSP with limited controller functionality.
Each level contains multiple mission objectives including blasting enemies and collecting items, among other things. The game plays fairly similar to a majority of the platform games of today and almost anyone can pick up the game for the first time and start playing without difficulty, though the ever-moving camera can become quite annoying.
Overall Daxter is a well rounded game, that has something for everybody, if your a fan of the series or not. This game is one of the better platformers that has made its way to the PSP, and both the single player and multiplayer mode allow for hours of playing. And the missions will keep you on your toes even if its nothing new from the other games in the franchise, and the open enviroments make exploring fun. Multiplayer mode allows player to take part in bonus games that are all fairly fun. You can even hook the game up to a copy of Jak X: Combat Racing for extra unlockables.
This game is without a doubt worth downloading, fan of platformers or not. Bringing the series to PSP shows that some games are just best for handheld systems, and this game is no exception. Download the game now and get ready for a game that can only be described as pure fun.

Crisis Core is the prequel to the game that put the Final Fantasy franchise on the map, Final Fantasy VII. I had many mixed feelings when
reviewing the game. While the game itself is undoubtedly fun to play, it’s hard for the game to live up to the expectations that FF7 had
set. And like other Final Fantasy VII installments, I feel this game too falls short. Though Crisis Core isn’t nearly as bad as Dirge of
Cerebrus turned out to me.
Crisis core doesn’t play quite like the first installment of the Final Fantasy VII world and is focused on a linear storyline with many
side quests or “Missions” along the way, and are perfect for PSP users who are on the go with only small amounts of time to play at once.
Square Enix did a fantastic job on the graphical side of things with intriguing cut-scenes and beautiful fantasy environments that push
the limits of the PSP’s power like never before. The load time between exploring and random battles is slim to none which adds smooth
continuous gameplay. The battles incorporate a slot machine like attack scheme and realtime fighting. Each attack will trigger the
randomizer and depending on the 3 icons that it lands on will produce different attacks. This scheme has its disadvantages because I never
quite felt that I had full control over battles.
The game has virtually no learning curve for those that have played FFVII, and it doesn’t take much for a newbie to the series to get a
good grasp on the game. Materia, limit breaks, and other key features from Final Fantasy 7, are all prevalent in Crisis Core
The story follows Zack, Cloud Strife’s old friend the army. And with only completing the core missions, its only going to give you about
10 hours of gameplay but again the side missions and a lot of depth to the game.
All in all its quite a good game and is easily the best installment in the FFVII series since the original. Though the game is a bit
monotonous, it is definitely worth downloading.

This game is a remake of a previous game nearly a decade ago that never hit the United States this Castlevania shows that there is still a good amount of fight left in the series.
Dracula X Chronicles tells the tried and true story of a dark priest named Shaft who resurrects Count Dracula to do his dirty deeds. This generation puts up the opposition in the form of Richter Belmont and Maria Renard. Dracula seeks revenge on Richter by capturing his girlfriend Annette and goading him into a rescue attempt. Never one to stand by and let his girlfriend down Richter prepares and sets out to meet his destiny.
You start the game off as a whip-touting Belmont. You’re vampire hunting does not only come with the whip but also with an assortment of sub weapons and items at your disposal. If you play right you can unlock Maria early in the game that you can then choose to play as instead. There is something fascinating about killing vampires with a little girl who throws birds and sing songs. Maria cannot take as much damage as Richter can but her attacks are easier to use and she has much more utility than Richter does.
You can actually unlock the original game that Dracula X Chronicles was remade from in its untouched form. This is great for all of you nostalgic gamers out there.
As always on the PSP the controls take some getting used to. But regardless Dracula X Chronicles is a very enjoyable game that keeps to the true linear roots of earlier Castlevania games. There are many unlockables that give much replay value and it’s basically three games one.
Now go out and have some fun hunting vampires.
